University of South Australia: University Department of Rural Health

The University of South Australia Department of Rural Health (UniSA DRH) is a multidisciplinary team of academics and professional staff.

Its role is to promote and support rural placement activity within SA. Domestic students enrolled in health programs at UniSA who undertake clinical placements in a rural or remote area of the State are supported in a variety of ways to ensure that they have a positive educational experience.  These include participation in interdisciplinary health education activities, community clinical support and cultural experiences, as well as accommodation and travel assistance.

The UniSA DRH is actively engaged in rural workforce research and health workforce support and development in rural and remote SA.  Research and evaluation projects are funded by competitive grants from national schemes and from the SA Department of Health, Country Health SA and other rural organisations including Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services.
